So, in preparation for the events I want to host as part of the Greener Bournemouth plan, I have been designing some flyers. Here are the designs I have settled on. The first is an experiment as to how to get as many on a sheet of A4 paper as possible without losing any information which is necessary for the event to be promoted. I settled on making them shallow but long, an 8th of the length of the A4 sheet, being able to fit 8 flyers on one printout.
This would be double-sided, as shown.
The colour of the print would probably be black, but green is a possibility, whichever one needed less ink to be used. The background would simply be the texture of the paper behind it. I have had a set of samples of recycled and FSC certified paper from Creative Review’s sustainable design issue for a couple of years now, and there’s some really nice textures available (FAO TUTORS: See handin for samples).
I have also done another design, a larger one taking up a whole A4 sheet (but the only ink used, again, is the text). This design folds in on itself, and opens to reveal a pack of seeds attached to the inside. This would be a great way to promote the green and healthy ideals of the project. Here are both designs front and back.
